Activating the 'Share on Facebook' Feature with an Image

Facebook only shows a listing's featured photo when your site provides a Facebook App ID. Create a free Facebook app, paste its ID into the MyHome Panel, and refresh any links you already shared.

To enable the "Share on Facebook" feature with an image, as shown in the example below, you need to provide your Facebook App ID in the MyHome Panel.

For instance, when you visit any listing link such as https://myhome1.tangiblewp.com/listing/minimalist-style-flat/ and click the "Share on Facebook" button:

Facebook should suggest an image.

Create a Facebook app and add its ID to MyHome

Please follow the steps outlined below to set this up:

  1. 1 Open the Facebook Developers site

    Go to https://developers.facebook.com/.

  2. 2 Create a new app

Click Create App or Add a New App.

The Facebook for Developers site with the My Apps menu open and the "Add New App" entry pointed out.
  3. 3 Name the app

Fill in the name of your new app and provide your email address.

Facebook's "Create a New App ID" dialog with the Display Name and Contact Email fields filled in and a Create App ID button.
  4. 4 Copy the App ID

After your app is created, copy the App ID shown next to the app name at the top of its dashboard.

The Facebook app dashboard with the app selected and an arrow pointing at the App ID beside its name, the ID itself blurred out.
  5. 5 Paste the App ID into MyHome

Navigate to MyHome Panel → Settings → Socials and paste the App ID into the Facebook API Key field.

MyHome Panel Settings on the Socials tab: fields for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok and Telegram links, and an empty Facebook API Key field at the bottom with a "Create a new api key" link.
Links you shared earlier keep their old preview
If you shared a link on Facebook before without a featured image, Facebook may still display it without one. Use Facebook's debugging tool to scrape the link again: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/
Facebook's Sharing Debugger with a listing URL entered and the Debug button highlighted; it warns that og:url, og:type and fb:app_id are missing and offers a Scrape Again button next to the time the URL was last scraped.

The Facebook debugging tool lets you update the information Facebook uses when it displays shared links from your site. Enter your URL and click Scrape Again, and Facebook will fetch the most recent information from your site, including the featured image.
